Monthly favourites- November edition.

Hey guys!

This month I decided I wanted to use up a bit of the make up I just had lying around and try some new bits so of course I came across a couple of bits and bobs that I've decided are worthy to be shared as my monthly faves! My first favourite is a No.7 instant radiance foundation, admittedly I only recently purchased this so it is a bit of a cheat but since buying it I've fallen in love with it (maybe it's just a crush but at the moment in my books it is the dogs b******s) It gives me enough coverage without making me look heavy duty* ( *like I applied my foundation with a shovel). I'll give it a bit more testing but a review will be coming soon.

To accompany the no.7 foundation I have used the Burberry luminous fluid base in fresh glow nude radiance no.01. Originally I thought this was a primer but I have been told that it can be worn as a foundation, now for me the coverage is far too sheer but for those of you who have amazing skin this will be ideal! It gives a gorgeous subtle glow and mixed in with a foundation it makes an amazing finish. I love dewy foundations and this just adds a great touch. I have used it a couple of times with the no.7 foundation and I still think it works amazingly even though the no.7 foundation is dewy alone. I want to do a full review on this because it's a gorgeous product that should definitely get more hype.

Essence have recently become more available near me having a stand at Wilkinsons. The tube on this mascara is definitely what attracted me to buy it in the first place. Unlike other mascara's the packaging on this one is similar to a toothpaste tube so that you definitely get the most product for your money. It lengthens, volumises and darkens my lashes which is exactly what I look for in a mascara. The wand it bristles not plastic. This doesn't give me clumpy lashes but does give me a full lashes look but unbelievably natural. This has definitely been one of the top products I have tried this month and as soon as I run out I'm going to buy another.

Essentially my next favourite is brown eyeliner but the one I have been using is a limited edition Mac pear glide intense eyeliner in the shade 'Lord it up' from the Archie's girls collection. Collection, Gosh, Maybelline all do great brown eyeliners but this month I have been using this one and would say of you could get your hands on it somewhere then definitely give it a go. The formula glides on and is super smooth. It's a gorgeous warm brown that looks great with blue eyes. It is very comparable to the Urban Decay 24 hour glide on pencils, it lasts a good 6 hours+ and doesn't irritate my slightly sensitive eyes. My only fault on this eyeliner is sharpening it, I always end up wasting so much product. But if I ever run out I'd try and get hold of this one again.

A Bloggers favourite is next; the Bourjois delice de poudre duo- also known as the chocolate bronzer, Bourjois released this version which includes a highlighter. The bronzer is simply a great shade for lighter skin tones and would even be great on medium/ slightly darker skin tones. It isn't muddy, blends well and easy and doesn't break me out. I couldn't ask for anymore than that! But the highlighter is just as good, it's definitely not as amazing as some highlighters I own but it is good and gives a subtle but natural sheen. It's incredibly affordable and is much better than some high end bronzers that I have previously tried.

Another Essence product I have been enjoying is the XXXL long-lasting lipgloss in the shade 06 soft nude. Firstly I wouldn't describe this at a lipgloss but as something similar to the Bourjois velvet matte lipstick thing's. I would even go as far as to compare it to the famous Sephora version. I picked a nude colour because I've recently taken to the nude lip look but they do also have a bright red shade that I'll definitely have to pick up. The applicator isn't my favourite shape but then again it works. This shade is very Kylie Jenner/ 90's brown nude lip. The consistency is great and I'm loving wearing it for less vibrant more chilled out days.

The Maybelline jelly glow blushers were massively hyped by bloggers across the pond when they were released, not so much for their practicality but because they had an unusual texture, you can actually move the blush around in the pan without creating massive gauges or marks in the product. It is gimmicky but I like it. I actually found this one in T.K. Maxx and it has superb pigmentation. It's a great colour for my skin tone and ideal for transitioning into winter. It is a dusky dark pink. The colour stays on my cheeks all day and is easy to apply with my Real Techniques brush. If I see any other colours I'll be sure to pick them up.

I could go on about loads of products this month but I'll leave it there for today, I hope to upload a few reviews in the next couple of weeks so keep your eyes peeled!
Thank you for taking a look, hope you enjoyed it.

Beauty buys!

Hey guys!

I picked up a few things at Boots today so I thought I'd show you what I picked up. I desperately needed a new foundation but I didn't want something I'd had before and No 7 is a brand I haven't tried a lot of so as I was browsing through the aisle I saw the instant radiance foundation, dabbed a small amount of the tester on my hand and picked it up straight away, the finish looked gorgeous.

I also saw somebody using the Bourjois volume 1 seconde mascara and I wanted to pick it up so I bit the bullet today and decided to get it but I picked up the ultra black version. The brush is plastic which is what I don't normally like but it does look interesting and I wanted to try it out.

My last purchase was the Yes to Carrots rich moisture day cream. I had a sample of this and loved it but  I couldn't find it anywhere so of course when I came across it I had to get it. It's such a gorgeous moisturiser which I'll definitely have to do a post on.

Have you picked up any beauty bits lately?

As soft as a baby's bum! HAIR FAVOURITES.

Hey guys!

Recently I have been trying to take a bit more care of my hair, especially considering I am trying to grow it. After bleaching my hair on and off for about two years my hair was very damaged and desperately needed a bit of TLC, so I went ahead and had quite a bit cut off. I desperately want to grow it and make it a bit healthier, so I thought I'd show you my favourite hair products at the moment that are working for me.

I'll start with shampoo- I have two favourite shampoo's at the moment, I still do really like the herbal essence coconut and shea butter range that I previously blogged about ( check that post out here) but I like to switch up my shampoo's and these two are really good. The first one I picked up is the Schwarzkopf Gliss liquid silk shampoo. I feel like this shampoo has been around for ages but only recently I tried it out. This shampoo made my hair sleek and shiny, it kept my hair feeling soft without weighing it down or making it look greasy. I'd definitely suggest picking this one up if you want softer hair. It's super cheap in places like savers or wilkinsons too!

The second shampoo is the Schwarzkopf essence Ultime biotin+ volume shampoo- This is definitely a 2014 favourite. I love this shampoo, similar to to the Gliss liquid silk it left my hair smooth, feeling soft and looking shiny. I can go 2/3 days without washing my hair if I use this shampoo which is amazing when normally It's near enough every day. I get amazing volume without any frizz. This one is slightly more expensive but deffo worth it!

Next up is the conditioners- I love the Catwalk by TIGI Curlesque range, the hydrating conditioner. This conditioner is a god send! It's amazing. My hair feel super soft after using it. It doesn't way my hair down and I don't get any build up from it. The smell is amazing and was the main reason I bought it. I dread running out but I'll definitely pick it up again when I do. It's not cheap but it is definitely worth it. B&M actually stock this product at the moment if you live anywhere near one.

I use hair masks once maybe twice a week and at the moment this one is the best. This Argan oil hydrating hair mask costs only 99p. This product is the bomb. It makes my hair super soft and silky, along with my shampoo's this makes my hair as soft as a baby's bum! My hair is dry and very damaged and this helps combat that. I would use it more often but it does slightly way my hair down, I wouldn't recommend it for anybody with very fine hair as I think it would probably leave your hair feeling flat, unless you used it just on the ends. But for me it works amazingly and I'll definitely pick up another one once I run out.

My favourite leave in products are the- Bumble and bumble thickening hairspray. This product has a great thickening effect, it adds volume and texture without making your hair sticky or stiff. This is fab especially because I need to nourish my hair that sometimes styling becomes difficult because my hair is so smooth or shiny so this spray helps to make styling a lot easier.
The last product is from the same range as the Argan oil hair mask and it is the argan oil hair treatment with moroccan and argan oil extract. This serum is only £1.99! This serum is definitely worth it. It smooths the hair really well and is amazing to de-frizz, this will help keep my hair smooth into the 2nd and possibly 3rd day. It doesn't leave my hair sticky or greasy at all, it's superb! You can pick up the argan oil products from places such as Homebargains.

What hair products are you loving at the moment?

Shoes are a girls best friend; Zara shoe haul!

Hey guys!

Since we are well and truly into autumn I thought it was about time I picked up a pair of winter boots. I saw a pair of boots on asos which where the aldo bronx boots which I absolutely loved and wanted so much, but they went out of stock and I couldn't find them anywhere. So when I was browsing the Zara website and spied these boots (which were very similar to the aldo ones!) I knew I had to have them. I also ended up picking up some pointed toe heels because I loved that they were slightly different to your normal patent pointed toe. I've wanted a nice pair of sophisticated heels for ages too.

The service was relatively quick- Zara says that delivery is between 3-5 days and my shoes were delivered on the 4th day. Standard shipping is also free is you spend over £50. The boxes they came in where ok, not something I'd keep the shoes in I don't think, they were just plain brown with Zara written across the front. My two pairs came in their own boxes inside one GIANT box.

I was slightly disappointed when the shoes arrived because they really didn't look like what they did online and I originally preferred how they looked online. After some thought and deliberation I did decide to keep both pairs and I have decided I really do like them.

The boots were £89.99 and they do feel very good quality, they don't look cheap in my eyes. The chain on them is quite heavy but so is the boot overall. They're quite a hard leather that will look even better with age. When they first arrived I was slightly worried that they would be too punk or harsh looking but when I tried them on with a few different outfits I realised they just gave the perfect amount of edginess to so many outfits. They really scream biker chick. I think these will be perfect in the winter because they are so solid! And easy to wear, the heel isn't very high at all and they are surprisingly super comfy. I would recommend them to anybody who has been eyeing them up.

I've wanted a nice pair of sophisticated heels for a while and when I saw these I knew they would fit the bill. They are a mixture of leather and suede, pointed toe and a reasonable heel hight- perfection in a shoe! Admittedly like the boots they did look different on the website and originally I did contemplate sending them back. The pointed part of the shoe is definitely more pointed than I thought it would be and that's the only part that put me off them. I actually wore them out on the weekend and got so many compliments on them. I did find towards the end of the night that the leather had stretched slightly which meant that they were making my feet slip up and down, but they seemed to have stretched width way. I have relatively wide feet so I wouldn't advise anybody with very very narrow feet to go for these. They are a very sophisticated and classy shoe and I cannot wait to wear them again. These were cheaper than the boots coming in at £49.99 which for nice, quality heels I thought was very reasonable.

Hope you liked today's post! If you have any new buys you love let me know!

Beauty haul + lulu Guinness clutch bag

Hey guys!

So this week I may have splurged a little, so I thought I'd share with you what I picked up.

I've been wanting to add some gel polishes to my collection because I only have the two that came with my LED lamp when I bought it but I begrudge paying full price for them because they are quite pricy! So I had a look on Ebay and I picked up these 4 -
  • A Harmony Gelish gold glitter (name sticker has come off sorry!)
  • Harmony Gelish 'The Great Googly-Moogly'
  • Harmony Gelish sheek white
  • Gel polish colour number- 1453 which is a shimmery burgundy.
I'll do a review on these soon if you want to see more info and pictures.

This week I also ended up picking up the Naked 2 palette- I had seen it before but only in photo's or online and I never thought I wanted it, but when I saw it in store my mind was definitely changed! I love the look of the colours and I cannot wait to try them out.

The Mac Rocky Horror collection was also released this week- it also completely sold out online this week. I managed to grab the glitter in gold and a set of the eyelashes. I just had to have something from the collection, during the week I think i am going to scour the shops for the 3d black glitter, sin and frankfurter lipsticks from the collection. Wish me luck!

The last thing I picked up was a lulu guinness perspex lip clutch bag- I have wanted one of these for ages, they were very hyped by bloggers and when I saw this one come up in an auction near me I knew I had to have it! I ended up picking it up for £60.00 which I thought was a bargain! I'll do a review on this after I use it a bit for you!

Hope you enjoyed today's post, I'd love to know if you've bought anything recently? And what products are exciting you at the moment?

I tried…. #Stiletto nails

Hey guys!

I have been a fan of stiletto nails since forever, the first time I saw them on Rihanna (#wcw) I fell in love but I didn't know what they were called and I hate going to have my nails done, (weird I know but it's so time consuming!). Anyway earlier I saw a you tuber buy the elegant touch stiletto false nails in a haul and I instantly decided to pop up town to buy a pack. One thing I always wondered was how difficult are they to keep on and I'm still wondering as I sit here struggling to type this blog post. As the name suggests they are super long and they come to a point which is proving quite useful at the moment when I'm trying to hit the right keys.

I used the glue from the pack which is ok stuff, definitely not the best but it'll do until I find my trusty nailene glue. I then decided do add a pop of colour and attempt the heart shape at the end of the nails, needless to say that my attempt worked relatively well on about two of them. But as they say- 'practise makes perfect' and that is my plan. The heart shape is simple- you just creat an 'm' about half way up the nail from one side to the other, just keeping the perfect shape and line is the difficult part. The red polka dots were easier, just dip the end of a open bobby pin (aka granny clip, slide clip, hair grip etc etc….) and dab gently on to the nails. I then swiped a little bit of the sally hansen mega shiny top coat on the polka dot nails and just over the heart shape on the others to add a nicer finish. (Sally Hansen mega shine is one of my all time fave top coats. Just thought I'd throw that in and let you know.) I loved trying these and I'm definitely going to try more and more designs!

Hope you enjoyed today's post!

YSL HAUL!

Recently YSL released their new make up range which I have been rather excited for!
I picked up two new things so far, but I could quite happily buy all of it. First of all I picked up the palette fetiche which is one of the best small palette's that have been released for a long time in my opinion. I like every colour thats in the palette and they'd all look fantastic together.
3 of the shades are very shimmery bordering on full on glitter but I love that about them, I'm a magpie when it comes to shiny and glittery objects. The blue and the black are less glittery and the black is probably the most matte out of the palette. The palette is gorgeous for blue eyes especially the warm orange/bronze colour.

The packaging is nice, the front is a black leather feel with the gold YSL symbol on the front. There are two small eyeshadow applicators also included but they probably aren't anything that I'll use. This palette will set you back £42.00 but House of Fraser do have £10 vouchers going around, you have to spend £50 to get the £10.00 off but I definitely think it's worth it!

I wanted to pick up the latest released mascara but the House of Fraser I went to didn't have any in stock so I picked up one of the oh so famous Rouge volupte shine lipsticks in shade 14. It is a gorgeous peachy/ slightly coral shade that is fab for everyday wear. The lipstick feels buttery soft on the lips and has on overall good opaque colour. It's quite a specific colour to pull off, I don't think it would suit everyone but it's worth checking out! These lipsticks retail at £25.00. These lipsticks are definitely worth buying at least one, the packaging alone is stunning. They are fabulous quality.  Although the only downside is that this lipstick wouldn't last all day and would definitely need to be re-applied but I find that this is often the case with sheer or shiny lipsticks.

Hope you've enjoyed today's post! Sorry it's been so long,

GARNIER- Ultimate blends first impressions!

Hey guys!

Browsing the aisles of Tesco I came across Garnier's new ultimate blends range. I decided to pick up 'The sleek restorer' shampoo and conditioner which promises super-sleek smoothness. Being somebody who has very damaged, bleached hair this sounded good to me! They both also contain coconut oil and cocoa butter. So the night after I bought them I jumped in the shower lathered the shampoo into my hair and rinsed it off, I then put the conditioner on and left it on for around a minute (it's hard to judge the time when your in the shower…) and washed it out. And I have to be honest and say I was definitely impressed with the results. I don't want to write a full review since I've only used them twice but so far I'm pretty keen!

I'll pop back in another few washes and let you know exactly what I think of them!
Hope you enjoyed this quick post! Let me know if any of you guys have tried anything from this range.

The Colossal GO EXTREME VOLUM' Mascara Review!

Hey guys!

Maybelline's The colossal mascara is my all time favourite so when they release a mascara in the same range I HAVE to try it! So they've released the Colossal GO EXTREME VOLUM'! and I've given it a good testing. I love the original colossal mascara because the brush is ideal, the bristles are a good length and a great shape, having relatively small eyes I find it hard not to get mascara all over my eyelids but like the original this baby is doing a great job at sticking to my lashes and not all over my face! The brush is definitely one I've seen before but I like it, it's rounded a bit like a rugby ball. The wand is an extreme volume double wand, in all honesty I haven't really noticed a difference with the wand except for it being slightly more flexible. The colour is a deep enough black for me, I wouldn't say its the darkest (even though it is called very black) but it works well for my complexion.

The packaging is yellow with shiny pink writing on it- makes it so easy to find in my bag! I have noticed a tiny bit of flaking from this mascara but mainly when I try to re-apply a bit on top if I decided I wanted more after it had drying which happens with nearly every mascara. It lasts well throughout the day but is relatively easy to take off, I don't end up scrubbing my eyelashes at night. I much prefer this version to some of the others in the range. Overall I would say it's my second favourite Maybelline mascara next to the original colossal mascara. I would rate it at 8.5/10. I would definitely pick it up again! You can get it here. P.s for those who like waterproof mascara's you can also pick it up in a waterproof version too!

Have you tried this mascara? Let me know what you think!

I miss the summer now, I want to see the sun shining everyday and a reason to eat loads of ice cream. I thought I'd take a couple of photo's of what I wore today, although the photo's don't do the outfit much justice I wanted to show you all anyway!

January non-beauty favourites!

Hey guys!

This month has been surprisingly busy for me, it seems to have flown by! I thought I'd do a non-beauty favourites this month, just for a change. My 2013 favourites will be up soon, it's just taking longer than I thought, sorry!

My first favourite has got to be Lorde- Pure Heroine. This album is stunning, the music is so relaxing. Her voice is amazing! I'm currently loving track 7 which is Glory and Gore and track 9 which is White Teeth Teens. I have the cd in my car and I have it on my phone. It's honestly worth a listen. I saw the album in Hmv the other day for £4.99!

My next favourite is a tv programme that I've been watching on nextflix. It's called Californication, David Duchovny stars in it. I've watched series 1-5 in the last few weeks and I loved it. I've heard that there is a series 6 and 7 but they aren't on Netflix at the moment. It's a funny, sexy, love story basically. The series follows 'Hank Moody' a famous author and his baby mamma 'Karen' who's love he can't shake off, it's basically a struggle for them to be together but also to be apart.

*I DO NOT OWN THIS PHOTO*

Earlier this month we bought a food processor, so that I could make smoothies, which has definitely been one of my hobbies lately! I'll normally just buy some frozen fruit and juice and blend them together but I have been looking at some other recipes including broccoli and carrots that I might give a try soon.

Lately I have been loving silver jewellery and a piece I recently bought is from H&M, it's pretty simple and basic. It's a tiered necklace with a cross, coin and a silver bar, I just think it adds something a bit more special to any plain boring outfits.

This one is kind of beauty related… sorry! Since I'm studying beauty therapy at college, this month we were doing eye treatments, so I decided to have semi-permanent eyelashes done and I really enjoyed them. It was so nice to wake up in the morning and not have to worry about my make up as much and I probably saved a ton of mascara. I opted for short but thick lashes, it gave a nice sultry effect that was gorgeous paired with a smokey eye. If I have them done again (which is more than likely) I'll blog about them so you can see!

Sorry it's not the greatest photo!

Hope you guys are having a great year so far! What's your favourites?

2013 Favourites- Perfume edition.

Hey guys!

I decided that I wanted to share my favourite products of 2013 with you, but I have had to separate it into a few blogsposts because I simply have far too many things to show you! So my first post is going to be on my favourite perfumes of 2013.

Chanel Coco Noir is the perfume I was actually gifted after passing my driving test, I wanted it for Christmas 2012 but we couldn't get hold of it anywhere, it was completely sold out, so my mum kindly bought it for me as soon as she saw it back in stock. I wear it as an evening perfume and to me it smells expensive, classy and gorgeous. I love the bottle, it's classy but edgy. Chanel describes this perfume as- "Black is like nothing else. It's radical, exceptional and fascinating. It's enigmatic elegance hold a promise of the unexpected. From this deep, rich black emerges a unique olfactory experience. A luminous oriental. A fascinating, incredibly seductive presence emerges, redefining all codes. Coco Noir. Through black… light revealed".

This perfume has top notes of grapefruit and Bergamot, a floral accord of Rose and Jasmine and Indonesian Patchouli and Sandalwood which add warmth. Although it's a stunning perfume it will set you back £75.00 for the 50ml and £106 for the 100ml for the eau de parfum. I would definitely spend the money on it again because I like it so much and you don't need a lot to last you all night.

*I do not own this photo*

Another of my favourites would be Vera Wang Rock Princess eau de toilette spray. This is completely different to the Chanel coco noir. It's a lot lighter, definitely wearable in the day. It's sweet and feminite but slightly seductive. The bottle is ok, nothing too special but it's nice. It's a black heart shape bottle with a grey/silver pattern across the front. With a crown shaped lid (which I've lost…) This perfume is a dark, fruity and floral version of Vera Wang's original princess perfume. "Rock Princess features opening notes of fruity white peach and raspberry that blend beautifully with a floral heart of jasmine, lily and rose. A base of cashmere, musk and coconut." This perfume is definitely less expensive than the Chanel coco noir only setting you back by £25.00 for the 100ml from Tesco. That's a bargain if I've ever seen one!

*I do not own this photo*

Bond girl 007 from Avon was definitely one of my 2013 favourites. It was released by Avon in 2008 to be associated with Quantum of Solace. It is a sexy scent, but light. "It features top notes of velvety white peach and orange blossom followed by mid- notes of jasmine, calypso orchid and freesia. The drydown consists of amber, cashmere wood and patchouli" I have no idea if you can still get it from avon themselves but I'm sure you could pick it up from Ebay for a super reasonable price. I like the packaging but not as much as the others, you can tell it doesn't cost as much as the other perfumes but it's nice for the price.

* I do not own this photo *

The last perfume I chose is Juicy couture's Viva la juicy. This is definitely different to my usual perfums. It's quite floral. I can only wear this somedays, I couldn't wear this everyday. It is strong and last nearly all day. Although to be honest I have the most compliments from men when I wear this perfume. The top notes are wild berries and mandarin, the heart notes are honeysuckle, gardenia and jasmine. The base notes which add a bit of warmth are amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood and praline. (fact- It's been proven that men are attracted to vanilla.) This perfume is reasonably priced as it would cost you £47.00 for 50ml from Debenhams. I must say aswell that this is definitely my favourite bottle, it's heavy so not appropriate to carry in your hand bag but it looks gorgeous!

*I do not own this photo* How gorgeous is the bottle though?

I hope you enjoyed this post, I will upload my favourite make up bits soon! What were a few of your favourite products in 2013?
