January Favourites!

Hey guys!

It's that time again... January favourites time! This month I have narrowed my favourites down to just 4 proucts, these have been my absolute favourite, the products I feel lost without.

The first product is the Sleek matte me lip cream in the shade petal, I won't bang on about this too much because I have already put up a review, I'll link it here.
One of my best friends bought the Mary- lou manizer aka the luminizer from the balm for me for Christmas and I have fallen in love! This highlighter is incredibly pigmented and has an amazing glow. It is a gold highlight with slightly pink iridescent to it. You literally need the tinsiest bit to create the perfect finish to any makeup look.
I was also given the Bare Minerals original foundation off my Mum for Christmas and I am loving it. I can't believe that a powder product can give such fantastic coverage. I also have the matte version which I like but at the moment I'm all over the original version which is slightly dewy.

A new product on the market is the Max Factor creme puff blush in the shade gorgeous berries, these blushers remind me of the hourglass ambient lighting powders but they are more pigmented and less of a highlight shade, 'Gorgeous berries' is a dusky dark pink which is so flattering on my fair skin tone, it's such a versatile shade and it will suit a lot of different skin tones. This blush is amazingly pigmented and you need the tiniest amount. I want to do a full post on these blushers soon, let me know if you'd like to see that?

What are you favourites this month?

Sleek Matte me- REVIEW.

Hey guys!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to go on a bit of a splurge in Superdrug and two of the items I picked up were the Sleek Matte me lip creams. I picked up the shades Petal and Brink Pink. Petal is a light, nude colour and Brink Pink is a near enough fluorescent pink. Complete opposites I know, but those were the two that drew me in the most. These lip creams are described as 'Ultra smooth matte lip creams', after giving them a thorough trial I have decided that I like them. Admittedly I wouldn't describe them as ultra smooth as they are quite drying, a balm underneath definitely makes them more comfortable. They take a bit of work to get them perfect but it's easy enough with practice, they don't transfer very much at all which is fab! The colour pay off is amazing and Brink Pink is just as bright on the lips as in the packaging! They're matte for sure, which I definitely prefer in comparison to anything glossy or shiny.

The packaging is ok, it looks nice but feels slightly cheap but given that they retail at only £4.99 I think they've done a good job. I did pick both lip creams up at the same time but they seem to have slightly different packaging. Brink Pink has a doe foot applicator and a different font of writing on the front compared to Petal. Petal also has a longer very slightly curved applicator. I have no problems with either packaging, the longer curved applicator makes it slightly more difficult to get a very precise line but it isn't terrible and works enough.

They last a good length of time, after eating and drinking the colour was still apparent around 5-6 hours later. They wear off nicely and don't leave a ring around your lips making you look like you've only got lip liner on. They apply slightly oily and then dry to a matte finish, they remind me of the Lush lip products. They only need one or two if you really want to make them opaque. The first layer is enough to get away with but the second makes it perfect.

Have you tried these before? What did you think about them?
